Locations - Clinical Research Units
The Centre for Human Drug Research in Leiden houses a state-of-the-art 30-bed clinical research unit. This fully GCP-compliant unit was purpose-built and contains wards as well as eight dedicated research rooms that allow for intensive testing in a standardised environment.
The clinical research unit is within a 5-minute walking distance from the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) with direct access to an intensive care unit, clinical haematology and chemistry labs, a GMP-certified pharmacy and imaging facilities.
In 2013, a new clinical research unit will be opened, which will have 60 beds in individual rooms for more comfort and long-term stays.
CHDR also has a fully-equipped clinical research unit within the VU University Medical Center that is dedicated to clinical PET studies and studies in neurological patients that require hospital admission (e.g. 36 hours csf sampling in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease).
